Austin

This past weekend we were in Tallahassee for my little sister's graduation from FSU. She is heading to Austin, TX in a couple weeks to start an internship with Blue Genie. For her graduation present I gave her Insider's Guide to Austin, eat.shop.austin and Streetwise Austin Laminated City Map. The items hadn't arrived from Amazon by the time we left town, so I printed up pictures of the covers on photo paper, laid them in a box on top of tissue paper and wrapped it all in an old map. Of course, all three packages were waiting on the door step when we got back into town, but I was still pleased with my make-shift presentation of her gift.

India Y La Luna

I recently came across India Y La Luna's Etsy Shop. She is located in Buenos Aires, Argentia and hand crafts jewelry from a variety of types of metals. Her work is delicate & earthy. I especially love the simple elegance of the Knot Ring and the folksy designs of these earrings found here, here, and here {clock-wise from top}.

Movie Nights in Treaty Oak Park

Every Friday night this April, Downtown Vision and JaxParks have hosted Movie Nights in Treaty Oak Park. Two weeks ago a bunch of us camped out on our blankets to watch 'Ghostbusters' and had a blast! Tomorrow night is the last night of the series, featuring 'The Goonies', which I was really excited to go see in the park, but will be out of town in Tallahassee instead. For anyone in Jax tomorrow night, you should definitely make a point to head to Treaty Oak Park. The movie starts at 8pm and is free. I hope this isn't the last time we see something like this in Downtown Jacksonville.

Spring Risotto

Two nights ago I made this Spring Risotto from Martha and it was soooo yummy. I served it with baked lemon pepper chicken and white wine. It takes some tending to but was pretty simple {don't forget the Parmesan cheese - they left it off the ingredient list}.

Free People Bathing Suits

Free People has some super fun new bathing suits. I love all of these prints and designs. I'd especially love to rock that animal print one out on Jacksonville Beach!

I saw a link to this home several weeks ago on one of Maxwell at Apartment Therapy's daily emails. I haven't been able to get it out of my head since.


Typically, I am a girl who goes for brighter colors, but if I were ever to decide to decorate with a neutral palette I'd want it to look exactly like this. I wish I could lounge in that living room sipping on mojitos with friends! You can read more about this home here. What a shame they had to leave it!

I am currently coveting these window adhesives {& imagining how wonderful they would look in my breakfast room!} but at this price, I will have to do some serious searching for a similar alternative.

Welcome to My {Blog} World

Welcome to Nest Fancy! This blog has been a long time coming in that I am a regular reader of blogs & have always intended on starting one of my own. Upon questioning myself why I had yet to do so, I had no real answer, other than hesitation that I would probably be bad at keeping it up {the ol' fear of beginning something unless absolutely certain you will finish/maintain it}. Alas, I have decided to bite the bullet & hope for the inspiration to be a regular!
